William Wood Glass

The grandfather of Julian Wood Glass Jr., William Wood Glass grew up at Rose Hill in the first half of the 1800s; Rose Hill is the Glass family farm, near the Wood family farm called Glen Burnie. The Wood and Glass families had intermarried in 1832. In 1884, at nearly sixty, William Wood Glass moved into the Glen Burnie Historic House, long the ancestral home of the Wood family. Over the next quarter century, William Wood Glass kept what was then a financially troubled estate afloat.
