Works by some of this country’s most celebrated artists will be on display at the MSV from August 29 through January 3, 2021, in the traveling exhibition An Adventure in the Arts: Selections from the Guild Hall Museum, East Hampton, NY. The exhibition presents art from the primary cultural center on the Eastern End of Long Island, a region to which artists, writers, musicians, actors, and directors have flocked for more than 140 years. An Adventure in the Arts presents more than 70 works, including paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints, and photographs. This engaging and thoughtfully assembled collection will trace the progression of art movements in America, from Impressionism to works by artists in the 1980s and 1990s. Famous artists whose works will be shown include Thomas Moran, Childe Hassam, Willem de Kooning, Jackson Pollock, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Chuck Close, and many more.
