Two Whippets

Sir Edwin Landseer was one of the most successful artists of the Victorian era. Here he links two different points of view, looking sideways and downward. He does this through the dogs’ entwined poses. Landseer used familiar creatures to tell complex stories and counted Queen Victoria among his greatest fans.
