Tara House

Lee Taylor took special care to replicate many of the details of Tara from Gone with the Wind. Artisan Judee Williamson created the elaborate parlor curtains for this miniature. But one curtain is missing: resourceful heroin Scarlett O’Hara tugged it down to secure fabric for a new dress.

Tara is a miniature replica of the fictional O’Hara family mansion featured in Margaret Mitchell’s novel Gone with the Wind and its classic 1939 film adaptation. Mitchell modeled Tara after pre-Civil war plantations and other antebellum architecture in Georgia.
