Queen Charlotte’s Sofa

Date: 1811 - 1812

Collectors of British furniture highly value objects with a history of royal ownership. So Julian Wood Glass Jr. would have jumped at the chance to acquire this amazing sofa. The British royal family commissioned it as part of a set of sofas and armchairs that furnished the stunning Blue Velvet Room. This dressing room was in the private apartments of Queen Charlotte, wife of King George III, at Buckingham House (later Buckingham Palace). Queen Victoria and her family also likely used the sofa.
