Fancy Ware Wall Pocket

Date: ca. 1887 - 1903

A wall pocket hangs on the wall to provide a “pocket” to display flowers.  This one features a relief of a shell in the center.  Two hands hold a rose bloom on each side of the shell.  The handle and saucer base give the vase additional flair.  So do the several different glazes that were used to create the surface.  The vase is attributed to the Eberly family, but there is also a chance Lorenzo Fleet made it.  Lorenzo Fleet worked for the Eberlys, and he worked for Anthony Bacher before that.  That is why there is a strong resemblance between the work of Anthony Bacher—whose work is displa
