Ages 5 and older will explore a traditional German art form in this special Gallery Explorers program in Strasburg! Participants will learn about fraktur, a form of decorative painting and writing brought to the Shenandoah Valley by German settlers in the 1700 and 1800s, then experiment with watercolor techniques and create their own fraktur-inspired valentines to take home. Led by MSV Youth and Families Manager Curry Schiavone.

Free. Register by February 10; visit www.theMSV.org or call 540-662-1473, ext. 240. Adults must accompany children; limit one adult per child please. This program will take place in the Market Pavilion at Strasburg Square, 216 E. King St., Strasburg, VA, 22657. Strasburg Explorers is part of the Strasburg MSV Sampler Series supported in part by an award from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the Town of Strasburg.
