Join Marquetta Mitchell, former student at the Sunset Hill School and local historian, for a talk on the history of the Queen Street School and Sunset Hill School in Strasburg. Both schools served Strasburg’s Black population from the late 1800s through the early 1960s. The talk will focus on stories and experiences of students and teachers before, during, and after integration, as well as the contributions of the schools’ teachers, and the current project looking to document and share the schools’ role in local, state, and national history.
Pay what you can. Register by March 15; register online or call 540-662-1473, ext. 240. In the event of inclement weather, this program will move to Zoom and a link will be provided.
