A makerspace is a community center that engages children, families, and adults in STEAM through innovative, hands-on learning experiences.

The MSV Makerspace is a community center that engages children, families, and adults in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) through innovative, hands-on learning experiences. Makerspace attendees are encouraged to experiment with what interests them most. For those looking for inspiration, there will be suggested activities and materials available for purchase.

Makerspace equipment includes:
  • Electric wheels for throwing pottery
  • Kiln for firing ceramics
  • Robotics kits
  • Sewing machines
  • 3D printer
Makerspace tools available:
  • Mat cutters
  • Printing press
  • Tool for hand building clay, and more!
  • Basic hand tools (saws, drills, clamps, screw drivers, hand planes, dremel tools, chisels, tin snips)

MSV Makerspace hours and fees are detailed below. Visit the Makerspace during Makerspace Hours* to purchase individual passes and punch cards. Cash, checks, and credit cards accepted.

Makerspace Hours

Tuesdays: 4–7 p.m.
Sundays: noon–6 p.m.
Winter Thursdays (January – March ONLY): 10 a.m.–1 p.m.

*The Makerspace calendar coincides with the Museum calendar and schedule. Please check the MSV Home Page for inclement weather announcements and Museum Hours of Operation before visiting.

 

ADMISSION FEES

 

Adult Fees (18 & older):

Regular fee: $12 per adult per visit; MSV Members: $10
Adult Punch Pass: $60 per adult for 6 visits; MSV Members: $50

Youth Fees (up to age 18):

Regular Fee: $6 per child per visit; MSV Members: $5
Youth Punch Pass: $30 per child for 6 visits;  MSV Members: $25

Makerspace Kits:
  • Pottery Kit (includes 1lb clay, glaze, & firing): $5
  • Quilt Block Kit (fabric and thread): $5
  • Printmaking Kit (linoleum, ink, and paper): $5
