Learning Opportunities

The MSV offers a variety of educational programs to complement our mission of preserving and enriching the cultural life and heritage of the Shenandoah Valley for the community. Whether you're looking for programs for adults or for kids and families, you will find engaging and informative experiences at the MSV! Check our calendar of events for information about upcoming events and programs and to register online.

Youth & Family
Youth programs at the MSV serve kids in preschool through high school. MSV programs and interpretive materials encourage early discovery of art, history, science, and more! These programs are generally no to low cost and often encourage families to participate and create together. In addition to our regularly scheduled programs, kid-friendly activities are also offered at most of MSV community events.

Teens who have a general interest in art, history, or horticulture should check out MSV adult programs open to ages 16+. If your teen has a desire to develop their art skills and knowledge, consider attending the MSV's free Teen Art Club sessions held at 4:30 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month and organized in partnership with the Shenandoah Arts Council.

Adult programs at the MSV are designed to accommodate audiences of various interests and skill levels. From gallery talks and painting workshops to panel discussions and curator presentations, programs enhance visitors’ experiences with special exhibitions as well as the Museum’s permanent Collection and Glen Burnie Gardens.
