June 20 6:30 pm
In celebration of Pride Month, join MSV Curator of Collections Nick Powers for this virtual program that takes a look at the life and work of twentieth-century British artist Duncan Grant, a favorite of MSV benefactor Julian Wood Glass Jr. A gay man, Glass collected several of Grant’s paintings and drawings. Duncan Grant was a founding member of the Bloomsbury Group—a group of English artists, writers, and intellectuals—and his romantic relationships with men and women influenced his art. Along with providing attendees with a look at several important works from the MSV Collection not currently on public view, Nick will share a recipe for a Bloomsbury Martini for sipping during the online discussion.
