Morning Garden Walk: Garden Plants for Holiday Decorating

Take a morning garden tour at the MSV before the grounds open to the public.

Take an exclusive guided expedition of the MSV garden with Director of Gardens Perry Mathewes during this morning program series. While giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the MSV gardens before public hours, Perry will highlight seasonal changes and plants often used in holiday decorating.

Free to MSV Members; all others $10 (includes MSV admission). Registration required by December 6; register online or call 540-662-1473,ext. 240. Meet at the garden entrance. Walk-ins welcome as space permits.

Perry Mathewes is the director of gardens at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. Mathewes provides a vision for and oversees the stewardship and development of the museum gardens and grounds, including the rehabilitation of the Glen Burnie Gardens and the creation of new garden spaces as outlined in the Museum’s Master Plan. He leads all MSV horticultural initiatives and oversees expansion of garden-related educational programming and research.

Refunds for Programs and Special Events: Programs are held rain, snow, or shine, unless notified otherwise. Cancellations 5 days prior to the program or event date will be refunded, less 20% of the registration fee ($5 minimum). No refunds will be given for cancellations made 1-4 days prior to the program/event date.  Allow ten business days for refund processing. Programs cancelled by the MSV due to low enrollment or inclement weather conditions will be refunded in full or given a full credit towards a future program to be used within the year.
