Explore the exciting world of creating comic book art and cartooning in this expert-led workshop at Winchester’s Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. Under the direction of professional illustrator and artist Paul Zdepski, participants will learn the basics of creating original characters and storyboarding, along with discovering techniques and materials used to create comic art.
Admission to the MSV is included in the workshop fee! Before or after the workshop, see original works by one of the world’s most famous comic book artists in the MSV exhibition Superheroes & Superstars: The Works of Alex Ross.
Beginner’s welcome; space is limited. For ages 16 & up.

Refunds for Programs and Special Events: Programs are held rain, snow, or shine, unless notified otherwise. Cancellations 5 days prior to the program or event date will be refunded, less 20% of the registration fee ($5 minimum). No refunds will be given for cancellations made 1-4 days prior to the program/event date Allow ten business days for refund processing. Programs cancelled by the MSV due to low enrollment or inclement weather conditions will be refunded in full or given a full credit towards a future program to be used within the year.
Paul Zdepski lives in Strasburg VA, and is a professional designer, illustrator and university instructor. He holds a BFA in Illustration from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA, and an MFA in Illustration from the University of Hartford, West Hartford, CT. Paul works in a variety of different mediums, yet nearly all of his works begin with the same process. Whether painting, carving, or illustrating, He develops his ideas as pencil drawings in a sketchbook.
